Pediatric News - Acetaminophen Dosage Confusion Can Kill
A new, less-concentrated formula of infant acetaminophen is now in stores. Confusion between a prescription for the new formula and the previously available formula for infants could lead to fatal overdoses. As stated in the attached article, "If a pediatrician prescribes a 5-mL dose of the less concentrated liquid acetaminophen, but the parents administer a 5-mL dose of the more concentrated formulation, the child can receive a potentially fatal overdose."

Attention Parents!
Please know your medical benefits in order to avoid unexpected out of pocket expenses. Many plans are now applying deductibles, co-pays and co-insurance towards everything. Our office does collect out of pocket expenses at the time of service for the visit and vaccines. If your plan applies additional out of pocket expenses, we will expect the remaining payment once the claim has been processed.
We understand the financial strain and frustration with these changes and want to work together to continue to provide excellent medical care for our patients. Our billing department is here to answer any questions you may have.
Please understand our office is not responsible if the benefit description we obtained from your insurance plan is incorrect. It is important you know your benefits.
