Kristina Morataya, PNP

Christina “Chrissy” Morataya is a compassionate Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (PNP) who earned her Master’s degree from Cedarville University in Ohio. She spent the past year working in primary care pediatrics in North Carolina. Heeding the call of the desert, Chrissy moved here to care for patients in our new Surprise clinic. We are so excited to have her here!

Christina deeply believes that the core of pediatric care is connecting with kids and educating and empowering parents. Chrissy loves finding creative ways to help kids feel completely at ease during their visits. Drawing on her clinical experience in the pediatric ED, she specializes in guiding parents - especially new parents - on how to confidently manage illnesses at home and know exactly when it is time to bring their child in for a visit. To ensure she can connect with a wider variety of families, she speaks intermediate Spanish and completed a continuing education course in conversational Spanish.

When she isn't caring for her pediatric patients, Chrissy loves spending time with her husband and their Bernese mountain dog. You can usually find them hiking and exploring different national parks. A self-proclaimed kid-at-heart, she is a huge fan of Disney movies, with Zootopia, Frozen, and Tangled topping her favorites list!
